The I Mentorship Brazil project was created with the objective of bringing together hospitals and professionals, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and others, to exchange experiences in combating stroke.

This event model aims, in addition to the exchange, to create a channel for the knowledge of those professionals whose hospitals have already received WSO Angels Awards, and to inspire those at hospitals where the stroke protocol is still being implemented.

"

In other words, says Karla Trevisan of Angels Brazil, it’s a project dedicated to “sharing practices, information, and experiences, and networking!”

The first group to attend an I Mentorship Brazil event, consisted of 41 healthcare professionals from various parts of the interior of São Paulo, and from the southern part of Minas Gerais. The event was free, and the agenda designed around the contribution of three experts.

"

Nurse Natália Cristina Ferreira gave a presentation entitled “What are the actions for a Hospital to achieve WSO certification.” Nurse Kellen Vanessa Nogueira de Oliveira and Doctor Vitor Roberto Pugliesi Marques spoke about action strategies in the managed stroke protocol at private and public hospitals respectively.

Attendees also had the opportunity to take part in group question and answer sessions, which facilitated the exchange of realities between them. This activity was so successful that participants asked for the time to be extended. “It shows that this exchange of experiences makes people understand and visualize the realities of each one, whether in public or private hospitals,” Karla says.

"

Feedback on the event was overwhelmingly positive, with comments singling out the exchange of experiences and ideas between individuals and institutions, and networking and group interaction. One respondent observed that the difficulties experienced by different units were very similar: “We know the difficulties and saw ways to seek improvement.”
